Heres a designer who has anticipated what the reader might potentially needa wide range of sizes. It uses a large K size hook and bulky yarn, so working it up is a breeze. I was a little confused by the color change, but thats because the brim is worked flat as a separate piece and then seamed. The rest of the hat is worked in the round. Theres also a nice bit of information on how to choose soft yarn for donated hats.
