Unconventional Crochet Aviator Hat
Inspired by Amelia Earhart and her daring spirit, this Unconventional Crochet Aviator Hat is exactly as it's described. We love that the ear flaps are asymmetrical and that it is an interesting spin on the classic aviator hat. The bright blue color navigates away from the conventional version of this hat as well. The eyelet pattern makes this hat more feminine than a regular hat, which once again embraces Amelia Earhart's memory. Delicate details and the wild color are balanced out by gunmetal buttons.

This looks funny but with a fashion statement. There are people who would love to wear this type of hat just for fun. Can be done in other solid colors.

Decent pattern, lousy photo. The ear flap on the one side is definitely too long but as the pattern states, you make it as long as you want. I had to look at it a few times but I got the concept and it makes sense. I like a hat like that because in windy weather it stays on your hat. You could even make it in more than one color. I like it. I am sure I am going to get requests for this pattern. Thank you.

I am making one in honor of and in memory of my friend Gay Wise. One of her signature pieces of clothing was a leather aviator's hat that Bill Blass gave her. She would love this.

She is correct that this hat is exactly as described when it was named unconventional aviator hat. It is really different from any I have ever seen before. The full pattern is available here http//undergroundcrafter.com/blog/2015/04/20/free- == pattern-an-unconventional-aviator/ . The earflaps are very asymmetrical and I dont think they really think the one on her right side needs to be quite so long.
