    "This stretchy one-skein project is halfway between a beanie and a slouchy hat. Crocheting in the back loop of half double crochet stitches mimics the look of the stockinette stitch in knitting. Although this is listed as intermediate because of the special stitches, an adventurous beginner can make it. Now available in 8 sizes.     Materials List

    • Lion Brand Vanna's Choice (100% acrylic, 3.5 oz/100 g, 170 yd/156 m) 1 skein in 134 Terracotta, or approximately 170 yds (29 m) in any medium weight yarn.
    • US Size I-9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain gauge.
    • Yarn needle.
    • Locking stitch marker or scrap yarn.

    Finished Sizes

    Newborn: 12.5" (32 cm) circumference x 5" (13 cm) height. 3-6 months: 14" (35.5 cm) circumference x 6.25" (16 cm) height. 6-12 months: 15.75" (40 cm) circumference x 6.5" (16.5 cm) height. Toddler: 17.25 (17.25 cm) circumference x 7 (44 cm) height. Child: 18.75" (47.5 cm) circumference x 7.5" (19 cm) height. Teen/Adult Small: 20.5" (52 cm) circumference x 8" (20.5 cm) height. Adult Large: 22" (56 cm) circumference x 8.5" (21.5 cm) height. (Requires 2 skeins of yarn.)
