Cool beans. There are pictures, videos and written tips on how to make this blanket sweater. I am a fan of neutral colors but a piece like this needs to be in a statement color. I was thinking about a vibrant red or purple. Heck, I just may make two, one in that vibrant color and another in neutral. Thanks for the share.

A pattern for anything cannot get much easier than this. This light mod mesh crochet blanket sweater is just too easy. I would love to have one of these in every color of the rainbow. The mesh portion of the sweater must take up a lot of the yarn because this is just a medium and it requires 3 skeins. I know I would need a larger size so I will tamper with the pattern for a while to see if I can make it for my size. Thanks for the inspiration and this great free pattern.

I am sure this blanket shrug has a wonderful drape to it. I would personally choose the new Colorwheel yarn offered at Michaels stores. Second choice would be the Caron Simply Soft. These are both worsted weight/medium weight yarns with TONS of beautiful color choices besides ivory or bark...you know, if color is more your thing. As it is with me! She says we can finish this in a weekend and I believe that because the stitches used are EASY to work up.I never block my garments but she recommends blocking this shrug because after it works up it tends to pucker.

This is so beautiful and I cant wait to make one for myself. Such a good springtime sweater. Looks like a very easy pattern to make also. Just wondering how long it took in total time to complete and if you have tried it in different types of yarn or color combinations?
