Finished Width About 26 in. (66 cm)
Finished Length About 26 in. (66 cm)
Materials:
- Homespun Yarn: Grape 2 balls

What a cute wrap. I love the color. It's one of my favorites. And after reading the instructions , I think it's going to be one of my favorite projects. It's very easy but looks very fancy and complicated and I will not tell the people I make them for how easy they really are!

This ruffled shrug pattern uses two balls of the Lion Brand Homespun yarn in case you missed it. I think it is a reasonable amount of yarn to create such a nice piece! The yarn used has such a soft and squishy feel to it that you won't want to take off this shrug. Well, maybe I am speaking for myself!

Hi. Is it possible for the AMOUNT of yarn by YARDS be included? By saying "I used 2 balls of chunky yarn" does not tell me how much I need to complete the pattern. There are many different brands of chunky, bulky chunky, etc, yarns. I suppose I could figure about 100 yards per each ball as an average?? Would that be a good average?

Hi Soapy, The pattern, as provided by Lion Brand, the designers of this pattern, uses 2 balls of Homespun yarn. They did not provide any more information beyond that, but you're welcome to contact them for more information. :) Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

A "V" stitch is NOT 2 dc crocheted in the same stitch. It is 1 or more dc, 1 or 2 ch, then 1 or more dc in the same stitch. Otherwise you just have 2 dc in the same stitch. You MUST have the ch to separate the dc's to form a "V".

Is the girl modeling the shrug from the Hair Cuttery commercial? LOL . . . she sure looks like it. Not crazy about the ruffles, but I DO love shrugs.

Pinkcaddy, I'm not too crazy about the ruffles either but I think this would be great as a simple and basic shrug. I haven't looked over the pattern yet but you could probably just make the shrug and leave off the ruffles at the end. This would make a great gift, looks like it would work up quite quickly and could be made in so many colors!

Confusing...is it a 16 mm hook or a 10 mm hook? You list both.

A 10mm is equal to an P hook while a 16mm is a Q. I'm thinking the 16 is a typo and you really use a P/10mm hook as it is referenced more. Also a 15 is actually a N hook! Best bet is to do swatches to get the gauge and go with the hook that does the job.

I love this pattern so much that I made 8 of these shrugs for gifts and two for myself last year. They do tend to run small so I suggest that you do an increase for larger sizes - check the Lion Brand website under pattern reviews for this shrug and you'll find that one reviewer gave the increases for the pattern for plus sizes. To make a medium/large size, I simply went up to a Q hook and bought three skeins of Homespun for the pattern. I used just a little of the third skein so I made matching scarves or mitts for additional gifts. In my experience, most Lion Brand patterns run small including their hats. I often go up a hook size for their patterns.

Is this supposed to be a big rectangle and then make sleeves by sewing the ends together and then putting ruffles on the edges. I'm confused on how to make the sleeves. Please help. I'm almost done the body part of the pattern

Why on the introduction page for the crochet ladies sweater does it say Bulky yarn and on the pattern it says Bernat Soft Boucle'?
