It must be my lucky day. For this free crochet pattern the size is mine. I have to admit that I am just a little intimidated about the skill level but I see so many aspects of this design that I just love so much. From the length of the cardigan to the hoodie. Even though red would not have been my first choice in yarn I even like the shimmery burgundy color used and I will use it if I am able to find it.

Double goodness on this project. This is the sleeved version of a vest of the same design. I have no idea which one I like most. I recently became a fan of hoods because I walk with my dogs and it is a simple way to stay warm and dry when necessary. This is a win win pattern. You can select to make it with or without sleeves. http://beacrafter.com/crochet-overcast-vest/

To the person asking about other sizes, I am pretty sure this designer usually releases one size for free and then gives you an option to get the other sizes by buying the PDF and that is usually way under priced compared to others prices. I love all of the designs this designer makes. She has so many great tank top and cardigan patterns and they are usually made very flattering.

Am I able to get this pattern in other sizes (for free)? - the link I followed for other sizes leads to request to buy - I realise the cost is minimal but I wanted to check if there is the free pattern. Thanks Clare

Hi clare, That would be a question for the blogger whose site is linked to above. We simply share the free patterns, we don't get to decide what is or isn't free. :) Thank you! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

What a stunning hooded cardigan sweater to wear this fall and winter. Oh my, the garnet colored yarn with a subtle shimmer is just the right touch for a holiday sweater! Suprisingly, the pattern is relatively short and straightforward, with not a lot of specialty stitches to be worked. I would love to make this using the new Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball yarns, with all the variations in colors per ball.

Hooded sweaters are just what I need for this cold weather. The cardigan with hood is great for first time project for me and friend.

I'm wondering if I would be able to make this sweater with size 4 yarn to make it warmer without making it turn out too huge. I would need it to be a little bit bigger since I am a larger woman, but I can't make it too big. I'm looking for just the right pattern with all of the features about it that I want and I think this sweater would be it except for the thinner yarn used in the display. I'll try size 4 yarn and see how it comes out. Thank you for all the excellent paterns!

Any pattern can be made to fit your size. First measure yourself. Check gauge of stitches, make a swatch with the yarn you wish to use. The number of stitches in a 4 by 4 inch square will assist you in enlarging the pattern size. Figure amount of stitches needed for your measurements by calculating stitches you need for your size.
