Easy Crocheted Cowl Vest
"This gorgeous crocheted vest is made with simple stitches and chunky yarn. It’s super easy to make since it’s essentially two rectangles that are seamed and the turtleneck is added at the end. It's made with the beautiful granite stitch which gives it almost a knit or woven look. The chunky yarn really seems to make the stitches “pop” and the wool is warm for cold days. A stitch tutorial is included with the pattern."
Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook, L/11 or 8 mm hook
Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

This is a very unique cowl vest. I rarely see anyone wearing a vest anymore. I guess this is more of a regional fashion accessory where as we dont usually wear them here in Florida. The construction is very simple as it is only a matter of making a couple of rectangles and sewing them together.

I don't like to have to count lots of stitches and work all kinds of shaping in my apparel items, either. I so appreciate the ease of this pattern with just a front panel and a back panel. You could make this as large as you'd like, too, to have more of a poncho effect. I am loving the slip stitch bottom and the added cowl neck for warm and coziness. This is a great pattern for beginners who want to complete their first sweater!
