Rainbow Granny Square Blanket
This bold, bright and beautiful granny square afghan takes rainbow crochet patterns to a whole new level. Incorporating pops of color in each granny square, this fresh blanket will look at home in any room. The spectrum of colors really allows it to shine on its own and become a conversation piece. If you love this pattern but prefer muted crochet blanket patterns, consider creating out of just one of the granny square alternates for a serene blue or rich raspberry afghan.
From the Blogger: "This pattern is suitable for beginners/intermediate crocheters who know the basics. The total yardage for a large blanket (1 x 1.80 m) is about 3000 m, however, it's totally up to you how much yarn you want to use! I used 20 colors in total, in the end, the equivalent of about 10 skeins was used (3 for bordering). So go puzzle a little bit about how you want to do it and be sure to have fun!"

Very beautiful granny square blanket but very laborious to make. But it's also worth the time, the effort and the cost to make this. This is very beautiful to display on your living room sofa. The lady visitors will love it. They also would like to have one like it.

You are right princess6860504, this afghan does put you in the mind of candy. I think it is a real art piece. Believe it or not, this is a great beginner project. It looks like it is a really complicated project but if you can crochet the granny square and change the color of the yarn, this project is easy peasy!

It is amazing how something so simple as a granny square can make such a wonderful piece. This afghan would make a lovely addition to the back of any chair or foot of any bed. Why not go ahead and make a matching set of pillows while you are at it. You will not be disappointed.

This rainbow granny square blanket does look like it has every color of the rainbow plus some in it. Wow! 20 different colors of rain were used in the one pictured. It is a beautiful work of art. The only thing I dislike about granny square blankets is the time is takes to sew them all together at the end.

When I look at this "Rainbow Granny Square" blanket, it makes me SO HAPPY! It literally looks like candy. And doesn't candy make you happy? The use of the cream color border in joining the squares together is genius. It really makes all those vibrant yarn colors pop. Lots can be said for the ease and classic design of this blanket. By updating colors for 2016 it modernizes the granny square. There is a bit of creativity needed when you are constructing the squares. I love this!
