The Classic Cowl
"I designed this cowl with just one thing in mind, the drape. I wanted something that was light, airy, soft, gentle and all those lovely things a cowl should be. I used an 8mm crochet hook and dtr/ttr stitches to create just the drape I was after, clearly not sticking to the rule book of what you should do with double knit yarn! The result though is a shawl/cowl/scarf that is perfect for any occasion and works up in a flash. Using around 200g of double knit yarn this cowl is the perfect and versatile you'll wear it everywhere!"

Actually, I PREFER the way that it is being worn draped gently around the shoulders! I have not seen that kind of look before. It is so feminine. There is a great step by step picture guide on how to make the cable stitch. The images are small, but I like that they are all contained in one spot for quick reference. I noticed the measurements are written in European terms.

The designer might call this a Classic Cowl, but I think its anything but. This lovely project is almost wide enough to be a small shawl. The designer said she focused on the drape of the cowl, and she did a splendid job! Be advised that the pattern is written in UK terms with US terms in parenthesis. Pay attention as its easy to get off track.
