Surfer Girl Necklace
This Surfer Girl Necklace is a great summertime accessory for girls. It can also be made into a bracelet, as well. Hemp cord gives this crochet pattern a rustic look that's reminiscent of summer beach days.

A fab design which is just perfect for lazy summer beach days, again there is a fab tutorial with detailed photos. The necklace is made with cord which I did the first time but then had a little experiment in making it with lace weight yarn to see how stretchy it would be and it worked really well so my daughter wears it as a headband. It is really quick to make and so you can make quite a few I need one go using a variety of coloured beads and it works well even if you change the shape of the beads as I also made one using diamond shaped beads.

I am totally a beginner when it comes to constructing crocheted jewelry projects. This pattern was written for someone like me who knows nothing about how to attach beads or pearls to a working chain as you go. It looks like a piece of cake! Can I say my favorite look is the one with the beach glass beads.

I don't know why this pattern is listed as "intermediate." It was super easy and once I found all the parts, I made one in about 10 minutes or less! There are endless possibilities by changing the cord and the beads, so very cool and simple. It might make a great beginner project for my girl scout troop!
