This is a great idea but when making it I ended up in a complete mess, I tried to use recycled plastic but just couldn't get it to shrink without burning or melting. I decided to raid my stash of buttons instead and made the flowers as shown in the pattern and then sewed a button in the centre in place of the plastic. The tutorial is easy to follow and the flowers are simple to make and do not take much yarn and I would have loved to use the plastic as shown but whether it was the type of plastic or my oven I don't know. Has anyone else used the shrunken plastic? If so what did you do?

Marvelous idea. Someone sure had their brains in gear when they came up with this one. I am going to make it in a smaller version bracelet for my grand daughter. She loves to wear grown up jewelry. If I make her a necklace also I will be the best grandma ever.
