Little Lily Nap Blanket
"Hello friends! Baby blankets are always fun to work with, for it's a medium size project. It is a blanket, though it is done in a relatively short time, especially when I choose a straight forward pattern, and not granny squares type that needs many phases to finish. My new post is a baby blanket, which I crocheted using a multicoloured baby yarn that I found in a popular bazaar in Erbil (which is, by the way, a beautiful city). It's easy to make, as I wrote the chosen pattern and designed a matching simple edging. Level: Intermediate"
Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge24 x 28 in 10cm stockinette stitch
Finished Size31 inch/ 80 cm long, 23 inch/ 60 cm wide, approx.

Now how did this designer know that my brand new baby granddaughter is named Lily and Ive been trying to find just the right christening blanket for her? This is an intricate stitch pattern, but if you go to the original link, theres a chart for the perfect sample swatch. I like to get the bugs worked out before I start using my good yarn for this.

This baby blanket makes me smile. The colors are joyful like a bright, sunny summer day! There is a bit of work to be done with this one, Front post treble crochets, sometimes six together, plus treble clusters stitches are used in this blanket. I can see using the Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn for this.
