Although it has yarn and hook size stated above you could make this with any yarn just adjust the hook size accordingly. The link has two versions one which is a trim that you could use to decorate the edges of towels or fabric dresses / skirts and one where you can crochet you project and then have this as the edging, I think it would look very pretty as edging for a lace weight blanket or shawl. The instructions are fairly easy to follow and there is a chart for those who prefer it to written patterns.
