"This tote used double strands of yarn so I needed about 6 balls of Yarn Bee Denim in Color. Its a perfect tote for summer activities! I used a 5.0 mm hook so the bag has tight stitches and is study. It only took me about 2-3 hours from start to finish and there is no need to block your finished project. The yarn does release sand easily so its great for the beach as well!"

Going by the picture, this is a very big and roomy summer tote. It should hold all of your needs. The yarn used Yarn Bee Denim is said to release sand easily so it would make this the ideal beach tote. It looks like it would hold several beach towels and still have room from your sunscreen, magazine, and a few other items.

Working double strand with the 5.00 mm hook makes a nice heavy fabric for a tote. This bag doesnt stretch out the way most crocheted bags do. It is a stronger bag, capable of heavier loads. The cotton in the yarn really adds to this quality. Using a coarser type yarn will make it even more sturdy. Adding a round of slip stitches or reverse single crochet around the top of the bag and handle will help prevent the handle from stretching out over time.

    Good tips thanks.

Persoanlly, i like the way this tote worked out in the end, even though I understand that it is not really what the designer originally wanted! You should know that you'll need 6 balls of yarn for it as it is worked using a double strand. I appreciate her detail in explaining the workings of the pattern. I generally like an overview. That is just how I am.
