To Grandma With Love Scarf

"Finished Size: 44 inches long and 5 inches wide - although it is easily customizable and the stitch pattern multiple has been included. This is my April Scarf of the Month Club Scarf and this month I decided to design a more traditional style scarf - something my Grandma would have loved and wanted to wear herself. In her memory I have named this my To Grandma, With Love Scarf and I hope it makes a beautiful gift for someone near and dear to your heart. Remember this is just one of the scarves available this month for our Scarf of the Month Club so pop by and pick up the other scarf designed by Amy, The Stitchin’ Mommy and check out our January, February and March Scarf Designs too! Hopefully we can help each other make scarves for everyone on our lists this year…ahead of time!"

This is a fairly short scarf but the design packs a big punch. Look at the texture you get topped off with a scalloped edge. This is one of those pattern that will be one of your favorite pieces in the wardrobe.

Superwash Dewy (DK weight) by Yarn Expressions? Something I am not familiar with, so I ask- what would you say is an acceptable substitution for it? It is a great traditional and fairly basic scarf pattern for those of us who are not down with the triangle scarves and large wraps. Or, if you have a slim fitting style winter coat and you need something that is very minimalist. Great choice here.

This is a beautiful scarf but its a bit hard to see the texture because of the lacy background on the dress form. That tweedy grey yarn doesnt help either. Having said that, I will absolutely be working this scarf up this year. This pattern is downloadable, but the biggest help will be the link to the Orange Explosion Dish Cloth since the scarf is worked exactly the same way.

Love it! Love it! Love it! This scarf is drop dead gorgeous. I agree Nana would've approved of this scarf. I do too! I'd like to do it as a wrap instead of a scarf though but I've never worked with "multiples". Should I give it a try? I'll see if I can find me a coach. I love the yarn, but I'd like a different color. I think I'll check back later to see what the next season brings on that decision but I most definitely will put this on my " What's next list?"

I think Nana would approve of this scarf. She was all into trying to keep everybody all snug and warm in the winter months and this scarf could definitely do that. The pattern the stitching makes is very pretty, but a brighter color would certainly brighten up the dull winter days.
