This is so cute and looks so snuggly and warm. Does anyone have any trouble with the little ones keeping something like this on or not turning it where there face is covered? I know when my boys were little, they would never have gone for wearing this. I love it. Will be making a few for shower gifts.

This is such a cute hood and easy to make. The instructions are easy to read. I knit for charity and we throw baby showers for expectant mothers who do not have much. These will be a big hit. Even though it does not get very cold here, it does get windy and this hood will protect the little one's ears from the wind. Thank you for the pattern.

This is so cute. And after reading the directions I can see how easy it is. I can't use it on a baby here because it's Florida but I have a lot of family and friends in the Nirth who can use it on their little people. Thank you for sharing.

OMG! This Baby Hooded Cowl is so perfect for a new baby. It will protect him/her from the cold especially in the head and neck areas, two body parts that are very sensitive to the cold weather. Thicker is better. If grandma or mom has more time she can actually make several of this cowl to match any color of clothes that baby will wear. Oh, the baby is so fashionista. I love it.

As the mom of seven kids in ten years (including a set of twins), I would have loved this project. By the time the last one was born, I had six under the age of six. Wrangling them to go anywhere was a major challenge and winter made it worse. By the time I would get the last few kitted out, the first few would have already taken their gear off. At least this easy cowl would have slowed them down a bit.

Unfortunately, you cannot print this pattern from this site. I had to copy the directions to a Word document and then print. I really wanted this pattern.

I am one of those crocheters who needs continual practice with joining a rib stitch cowl/trim onto the bottom of a hat and having it come out evenly spaced all the way around. I have been crocheting for well over 30 years and it is still the most frustrating thing for me! Hence, the pins. This baby hooded cowl is adorable, that's for sure. SHe's a doll!

This is such a gorgeous idea and isnt the baby just TOO CUTE! A close friends baby boy is due next month and Ive been wondering what I can make the new little one. I really like the fact that it cant blow off or Im sure baby wouldnt be able to pull it off easily either. Is there anyone out there whos already made this? Ill probably have to make a slightly bigger one as well for his 2year old sister and am wondering how easy the project is. I would love to hear from you.

I made it and added ears and a bow to make it a Mini Mouse! My Grand daughter loves Mini Mouse. Check it out! Love this pattern, I left part of the cowl open so it wouldn't be so tight around the neck. What do you think?

I have been looking for a pattern like this for our newest Grand daughter. Winter is fast approaching here in MI and this is a must make for her. I don't have children of my own, but I have friends that do and I have seen many a baby yank off their hats in the cold weather. I think these hooded cowls are an awesome idea because they are more likely to stay on a baby's head and keep them from getting cold! I bet your mom friends would love these for their little ones!
