This is such an easy pattern. This is excellent for yarn remnants that are too short for a regular project. I think it would be perfect for quick fundraiser projects too. Wouldn't it be great when done in holiday or school colors? I believe it is also a good pattern for a person who is new to crochet.

I like to find projects like this. It never fails that I have some yarn left over from a project and I do not like to toss it out. Not long ago I completed an afghan with some yarn left over; this idea would be a great use of those scraps.

The name "scrap happy" caught my eye, because I'm always looking for projects to use up the odds and ends my yarn stash. This one calls for bulky yarn but I'm thinking I might be able to use 2 strands of worsted weight together as a substitute, since I have more of that.

If I am not mistaken, this crochet project, scrap happy scarf looks like a variation of the granny square. I have an affection for all things granny square and this is no exception. I like the idea of being able to use up yarn scraps, but the pattern is too easy not to just buy some yarn to make it also.

could I turn this at the end to make this wider? I'm thinking of trying this in a fancier, lighter weight yarn to make a frilly scarf [like the ones you can only find for knitting]

I would prefer a printable version that takes up less space on paper, without the margins. I can't download a special pdf tool on the library pc that I use.
