Heidi Hooded Scarf
"This hooded scarf crochet pattern will keep you warm in the coming cold months. It is perfect for anyone who hates wearing hats. This sample was made using Scarfie yarn which has been in my stash since last winter. I regretted buying it and wondered what I would make with it. I was convinced I made a bad choice until I actually started making the hood for this scarf. It was a little hard to see my stitches in the black parts but other than that the yarn was nice to work with, and I love the look of single ply yarns. I was surprised to see that this yarn was labeled Bulky weight. I would consider it close to a worsted weight yarn in thickness."
Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Finished SizeOne size fits all women. Hood is 12 inches high and 9 1/4 inches wide when laid flat. The scarf is 70 inches long and 5 inches wide.

Boy, can I relate to buying skeins of yarn without having a specific project in mind. I have to confess theres usually a 60% off coupon involved so at least I havent spent a great deal of ready cash. This easy pattern starts with the hood, and after its completed, the hood is incorporated into the first row of the scarf. Easy peasy, nothing to go back and attach later.

Just looking at this hooded scarf hybrid, I can imagine the softness. This is a great yarn choice for a project such as this. For me, the scarf part is a little on the skinny side. I prefer my scarves to be much wider. I think I could adjust that easily. A beginner could have a little bit of a challenge with this but not be easily discouraged. Good pattern!

I have loved hooded scarves since my mother made me one as a little girl, and that was many years ago. I tend to lose hats so this eliminates that. And there is no problem covering your ears which is important to me. I will have to look at the tutorial again since I did not fully understand the directions. It does have a nice look to it. Thank you for the pattern.
