Spring Cleaning Scrubbies
With the help of these homemade cleaning accessories, you can have a squeaky clean kitchen in no time. These Spring Cleaning Scrubbies are a quick and easy crochet pattern to make in a variety of fun colors. Make a set for yourself, or give a set to new neighbors or new homeowners. Each scrubbie measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter. Kitchen crochet patterns like this are a great way to get a head start on your annual spring cleaning chores. 4 versions are available to choose from.
Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook
GAUGE
14 sc and 15 rows = 4" [10 cm] with larger hook.

INSTRUCTIONS
1st rnd: With RS of plastic scrubbie facing, A and smaller hook, work 36 sc evenly around outer edge of scrubbie, working each sc around 3 or 4 strands of plastic scrubbie. Join with sl st to first sc.
Change to larger hook.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. *Ch 5. Miss next 2 sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around, ending with ch 5. Miss last 2 sc. Join with sl st to first sc.
3rd rnd: Sl st in first ch-5 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc). (2 dc. 3 tr. 3 dc) in same sp. *1 sc in next ch-5 sp. (3 dc. 3 tr. 3 dc) in next ch-5 sp. Rep from * around, ending with 1 sc in last ch-5 sp. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off. 6 petals.
4th rnd: Join B with sl st in center tr of any 'petal'. Ch 1. (1 sc. Ch 3. Sl st in last sc worked – picot made. 1 sc) in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each of next 4 sts. *[Yoh and draw up a loop in next missed sc from 2nd rnd (working around 3rd rnd). Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook – spike st made. 1 sc in each of next 4 sts.** (1 sc. Picot. 1 sc) in next tr. 1 sc in each of next 4 sts. Rep from * 4 times more, then from * to ** once. Join with sl st to first sc.
Fasten off.

So I have these little plastic scrubbies in my kitchen but they tend to hide out under the cabinet until needed. I would leave these out on display because they are just too cute.

This spring cleaning scrubbies made with lily sugar n cream is adorable. I was surprised to see the center of these are actual scrubbies. You can get these for next to nothing at the dollar store and dress them all up and have them near the sink to add a little happiness to the space. Thanks for the free pattern.
