Double Thick Hot Pad
"This free hot pad crochet pattern uses an old favorite folding technique. It’s almost magic as the pot holder literally folds in on itself to form a diagonal line across a square of double thick fabric. This is an excellent crochet project for beginners, or for learning a new stitch. You’ll want to make sure that you use a 100% cotton yarn when you make crocheted hot pads because that is the best fiber to resist high heat. You do NOT want to use acrylic yarn for anything in the kitchen because it will melt with use. A good rule of thumb is to only use cotton yarn for use in the kitchen because it is heat-resistant."
