Does anyone here know how many messy bun hats I can make using one skein of the Lion Homespun? I am hoping to be able to possibly make two for potential teacher/holiday gifts. I like that I can find this yarn just about anywhere, and I don't have to special order it or only order it online. Thank you for this super cute and easy to make "hat"!

With all the messy bun beanie patterns available, I have not made one yet. I hope this trend sticks around until I do get the chance to make one. I always need a stylist hat to put on when I dont have time to fix my hair, but need to run an errand anyway. Pattern looks very simple.

This is a quick project, but I think the author may be underestimating the amount of time it might take. A proficient crocheter probably could complete it in an hour or less, but I would hate for a beginner to think they were doing something wrong if it took longer. It is a very simple patternno photos except the finished projectso it is easy to follow.

I love this new trend of messy bun hats! They are fun to make and there are so many different styles to choose from. I like them because I can put them on when I am having a really bad hair day. This style can also be worn by any age group of girls and they can consider it stylish. I have made 2 of these hats using 2 completely different types of yarn and they are both comfortable and fun to make. I am in process of making another one for my daughter in her favorite colors. She will love it!
