Easy Peasy One Skein Hat
With just one skein of yarn, you can work up this Easy Peasy One Skein Hat in no time! With any standard worsted weight yarn, work in the round to create this simple, classic crochet hat. Use half double stitches throughout to create a dense, thick construction to keep your head warm and the cold out. This pattern is just for a solid color hat, but if you have experience with changing colors, you can easily use as many colors as you want. Multiple sizes are provided, so make one for every member of your family!
NotesNotes:
•The pattern instructions are written so the seam of the hat runs straight (read more about it here)
•The hat can be started with a Magic Ring or with the instructions given in Round 1
•The starting chain does not count as a stitch
•Each round is started in the same stitch as your starting chain
•The end of each round is joined by slip stitching in the first stitch of the round, not the starting chain

When I see easy peasy I get excited. I love to take on a challenging project but from time to time I want to work on something that I can do in my sleep. This one skein hat will fit that bill to a tee. From new born size to large adult I know I can get my fix of an easy project before I dive back into something more complicated.

One hat that can be used for both women and men. I say, if you are looking for a charity project this holiday season, this is a good pick. It can even be made for a baby or a child. I just had a brilliant idea. What if you were to make this hat reversible by putting one hat over the other and sewing it together around the brim? You can have two colors in one hat!

This Easy Peasy One Skein Hat is a good one to have. I can make this one for everyone in the family, from my newest Grand child to us older Grand parents and everyone in between. The patterns here on this page are very easy to understand and it works up quickly. This will be great to have every ones in the same color that way when we go on family outings, it will be easy to find other members of the family, just from the hat. Love it!! Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

Love one skein projects and quick projects. This hat pattern is both. Very easy peasy lemon squeezy. Since this is such a basic and simple hat, I think I would snazz it up a bit by choosing one of the newer textured or variegated color yarns on the market today.

Okay, this is looking to me like a stash buster hat that could be made in stripes, or sections, or with a big band across the middle. Crochet a flower and add it to the side, or use a brooch or big button or two on it. I love that the directions include all different sizes - takes the guesswork out of sizing the hat!

OMG, I love this hat. The pattern is so easy to follow. I will be making several of these hats for my charity shipments. It will help me use up my scrap yarns.

Love that this comes in a good selection of sizes - will definitely be making several of these for family. I'm planning some simple embellishments to pretty it up too.

This is the kind of simple hat that I want to make in a bunch of different colors. Love its classic look!
