Beehive Messy Bun Hat
"A quick and easy messy bun hat that works up in less than an hour. Made with super bulky yarn and a 9.00 mm hook and worked from the bottom up, this hat includes a hair tie in the top for wintery warmth. I used Lion Brand Hometown USA for the hat in the photos, but you can use any super bulky yarn. Additionally, there will be a link to upgrade to the premium version of the pattern to get instructions to add striping and an optional bow to the back of the hat!"

Im always curious about how designers come up with names for their projects. Im a beekeeper, so this title definitely attracted my attention. Although most beekeepers use modern Langstroth hives, this hat does resemble the old fashioned straw skep. This is a really cute hat, and I love that extra detail with the striping and the bow. I might actually spring for the additional pattern!

This is a highly textured hat that is worked from the bottom up as with any typical beanie. It also has a ribbed brim which gives it a stretchy more customized fit for your head. As with all bun-type of ponytail-type hats, it has an elasticized top opening to keep hair in place.
