Hi! I noticed a small typo in the pattern in the Adult size for shaping the crown. In the Dec Rnd 3 it should be sc in each ONE stitch and sc2tog instead of every 2 stitches. That will take the stitch count down to 15 for the row. Hope this makes sense!

Hi tjcherrytree, Thanks for your sharp eye! I believe that's how the pattern is already written though: *sc in next sc, sc2tog* and repeat until end means that you alternate single crochet and then sc2tog until the end of the round. If I'm wrong, though, please let me know! Thank you, Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

I am not sure how to do the double crochet around the chain? I enlarged the photo and still can't make out how it is done. Its a wonderful beanie and would love to make this foe Christmas.

so i think i figured it out.. i believe its going from DC to HDC and back to DC and so on. But only on the DC you wrap it around the chain itself, almost like in a magic ring, then the HDC goes into the actual stitch. If that makes sense

This pattern talks about FPDC under Stitch Explanation but then in the whole pattern this is not used. Because they are saying to use a hdc not a FPDC. So which is it?

Hi Winiferd, The FPDC stitch is used in the hat band. Hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet
