Just a Jack O' Lantern Applique
The Just a Jack O' Lantern Applique from Red Heart Yarns is so simple, but can make a shirt seem brand new. All you have to do is work up the eyes and mouth sections and then sew them onto a t-shirt. Voila! You can make a nifty t shirt in seconds that your kids can wear for all the months of fall, not just Halloween. Maybe you can convince them to be a pumpkin for Halloween, though, to make it even easier for you! Turn it into a party with your kids and their friends and make multiple at a time.

Carefully hand-stitch pieces using matching thread, being careful not to pull the thread too tightly in order to prevent puckering.

Talk about an emergency Halloween costume! You cant get much faster than these little appliqus. Looking at this project gave me some additional ideas, too. How about some black ovals on a white shirt for a ghost? Get even more creative with a green t-shirt and make a Frankenstein monster or a witch. What about an Alien? This is the sort of project that just inspires me!
