Its getting close to that time of the year again when kids are getting packed and ready for their new dorm rooms. This blanket looks like a good choice for you son to take off to college with him. It will give him warmth and memories of home while he is away. The one downside to making anything with the granny square is all the sewing you have to do to connect them at the end.

OMW! I love this granny square blanket and, even though the colors shown are not at all my favorites, I just have to make one very soon, lol. Our children and I have just spent a wonderful hour going through my yarn stash and deciding what colors ours should be made of. Even though I was a little concerned during of the process, the final choices are just wonderful and we are going to love having it in our family room.
