Heartbeat Baby Cardigan
"This soft and cuddly baby cardigan will keep your baby warm during the cold days. Although is was designed for a baby boy, if you would use some girlie colors and place the buttonholes on the other side you’ll have a sweet little sweater for baby girls. In a picture tutorial you'll learn how to crochet that interesting stitch pattern without having to cut the yarn at the end of each row! For this pattern was used Red Heart Soft and Red Heart Soft Baby Steps yarn."

This is going to be my favorite sweater to make for the little ones in my life. It's very easy yet looks like you worked hard on it. I have used this design when making other things that I wanted to fancy up. You can do the single/double thing ir the front loop/back loop too. This is going to be done in pastel green!

A very different and fun way to change your yarn colors, following her pictures along the way. I really helps to "cut" down on the cutting! There are a series of groups of single crochets mixed with double crochets creating a kind of wave pattern. I have seen this stitch pattern being used in a baby blanket before, too. This really is an all purpose pattern for both a boy or a girl. You choose your colors. May I suggest Caron SImply Soft?
