Single Skein Dog Bed
It's hardly a "ruff" life for the family dog, especially when he has this comfy homemade bed to sleep on. This Single Skein Dog Bed is quick and easy to crochet using any color yarn you want. All you need is one skein of worsted weight yarn to complete this pattern, which makes this the cheapest dog bed you'll ever find. To adjust the size, simply add extra rounds as you crochet.
Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

My parents just got a puppy Yorkie I think this would be awesome for her I was even thinking somewhat along the lines of Paulismysoul and make a removable pillow in the same yarn to put inside the bed for the puppy to lay on I think you could use the bottom or round part of the bed to make two slightly smaller rounds and stitch them together for a simple pillow stuffed that would fit nicely You could even use some LB Hometown yarn to make this faster but also softer and plushier There are just so many variables to this it's a great starting point for ideas and I would like to thank AllFreeCrochet for finding Sara's pattern check out her site by following the Click here for crochet pattern it's doggone COOL Finally I'd like to address the negative comments I won't point fingers you know who you…Read More are but there is a BIG difference between constructive criticism and negative criticism and your comments were nothing like good constructive criticism

This gets my wheels turning. I can always find beds to fit our Chihuahua but not the Sheltie. They are always too small or too big or not the right color. I also like something I can put the whole bed in the washer. So, for a couple more skeins, I could crochet this a little bigger and maybe make 2 to stitch together so it is a little thicker for extra padding, put a cute ruffled edging on it. And, it will be washable, too. Thanks!

I enjoyed seeing the dog bed that was made, and if people don't have anything nice to say please keep your comments to yourself. I believe that I will make a few of these up for my local animal shelter, will add a few rounds to make bigger for larger dogs..thanks so much for the nice pattern

Nice bed! Disregard the 'prickly' comments. This looks to be an adaptable and versatile design. I don't even have dogs and I can certainly appreciate the effort. I am seriously considering trying this out on my cats...paulismysoul, it would be easy to add a layer of stuffing- just crochet another bed without the lip and stitch or crochet together, and stuff away! Thanks for sharing your design, Sara.

I have wicker dog beds and up until now have been putting sheets in them. But with this design, I believe it will work nicely. I might even add some stuffing and a top layer. Thank you for sharing your design!

cactusann: you are not nice. Also, if we are going to get all picky on other people, how about you learn to spell. Its not "MATT".. its mat. And I happen to think this design would be a WONDERFUL bed for animals in shelters. I think a person could whip up a whole bunch of these and donate them to needy animals. So, cactusann, none of us are really very interested in "your" dog bed. I think you owe the designer, and the rest of us who had to endure your poisonous remarks an apology. Also, just a side note: The description DOES say that you can add extra rounds to make it bigger.... so "myangel2865" and "VeryJoyful"... your comments are sort of backhanded compliments as well.

I agree with you lisakasper. If you can't use the pattern, just move on. These comments were in no way constructive.

@ cactusann - momma was right, "if you have nothing nice to say, it's best to say nothing at all" Although we have comparatively huge dogs, Rottweiler German Shepherd and Chow, I would never blast someone else's efforts - these cuties are obviously not lacking for a WARM and CARING place to live. PS, please learn to spell "crochet".

Always so nice to see that someone thinks of our four legged friends too! Lovely.
