"Crochet Coasters are one of my all-time favorite project to whip up. Crochet coasters are among the easiest patterns to make. They are quick and easy to make and they are also just easy enough for a beginner. Small and easy to complete. They also make great gifts for friends, family, and colleagues be it any occasion. Lately, I have been busy whipping up Coasters after Coasters.....and obviously, I want to share those with you. Let's start with the most simple coaster to make. Here is the pattern for Single Crochet Square Coaster!"

Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

This is about as basic a coaster as you can get, and truth be told, its almost too plain for my tastes. You could easily jazz it up by using variegated yarn, or dedicate an entire set to Christmas or other holiday colors. It is, however, the perfect project for practicing larger projects. The designer gives excellent step by step photo instructions.
