Falling Snowflake Coaster
The Falling Snowflake Coaster pattern is so much more than the name suggests. This gorgeous crochet snowflake applique can be used for so many things besides just a coaster, as the blogger suggests below. You can also add this to a crochet blanket or sweater for quick and easy holiday style.
From the Blogger: "A fun and simple snowflake coaster/ applique pattern! This snowflake works great as a coaster for a coffee table but you can also skip the last row and create a festive table runner or add it as an applique to a bag or scarf. Better yet, make this in thread with a 2.25 mm hook and these will become a lovely pair of earrings!"

I have given my Mother-In-Law over the years a lot of crochet coasters because she is as strong believer in them. She has now come to expect them but I am running out of ideas. This will be a great stocking stuffer

This is such a nice little project. It took me less than an hour to work up the first one (I was interrupted several times while reading the instructions. But once I got the first one down, the second was even faster. I really like mixing the various shades of blue with the white. Real ice is composed of more than one color, too. If you want to get really crazy, work each section up in a primary or neon color. Rainbow Snowflakes?

This pattern is so very versatile. The designer provided different ways that this free crochet pattern for a snowflake can be used. I would have never thought to use as a simple coaster. This is a useful pattern indeed.
