Woodland Deer Granny Square
"The Woodland Deer Granny Square is a part of the Woodland Afghan Series by Maria's Blue Crayon. The afghan is comprised of 10 Woodland themed squares joined together with solid granny squares. The Woodland Deer Granny Square is a great addition to the afghan or can be used along to create a deer themed afghan. On the website, there is a photo tutorial of how the antler is created. You will also find all other themed squares on the website."

This pattern still starts with the basic Magic Circle, but adds additional crochet work to form the snout, ears, neck and antlers. None of the extra stitches are difficult, but the antlers are the most fiddly. I was rather curious as to why the designer didnt include an eye with this appliqu as she has with most of the others.
