This is just like your Grandma's Quilt. The design of this crochet afghan is brilliant and the scarlet and hunter colors compliment each other nicely. The quilt is about 48 x 60 inches in size. Lay it across the couch for all to see.

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Pattern and site no longer available. If anyone has the pattern, I could help write joining instructions

For a vintage project, this looks strikingly modern. Although it doesnt specifically say so, it actually uses a version of the Tunisian Stitch. The entire afghan is worked up as individual squares which are then sewn together. Like most vintage patterns, there are no photos to help guide the crafter. This is one of those instances where I wish some talented blogger would repost this project on their own site and add some photos or a video (hint, hint).

I visit the website antique crochet patterns quite often and have never had an issue with my computer getting a virus or had the website blocked for me. It does however contain a lot of pop up ads that I am guessing help finance and keep this site on the internet. Maybe that user has a programs or firewall that is keeping her from accessing their site?

I am thinking like Lynn K that this would not be an easy pattern. Plus, the fact that the picture is in monochrome and I usually have trouble picking our coordinating colors. However, that being said this looks almost exactly like a quilt pattern that my grandmother made on her treadle sewing machine.

Oh my goodness me, this Grandmas Quilt is So Beautiful! I am not so sure about the Easy rating, might perhaps be a little more Intermediate, but it is certainly well put out and not difficult to follow. Not sure yet what colors to use, one idea I have is perhaps charcoal, grey and beige but have to think about it some more. Colors aside, this is one of those patterns that I know I will come back to again and again in the future.
