Vintage Nursery Blanket
"The Vintage Nursery Blanket is a a great on the go summer project. Make each 12 inch square separately and then seam them all together in your favorite way,to make an elegant retro blanket. This project uses elements of Tunisian and regular crochet. Learn the basic Tunisian Knit stitch along with double and single crochet stitches. The model blanket was made with a vintage baby yarn but you can substitute any baby sport yarn to make this blanket all your own."
Crochet HookD/3 or 3.25 mm hook
Yarn Weight(3) Light/DK (21-24 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge8 TKS and 8 rows = 2 inches
Finished Size12 inch square

This is a simple but functional baby blanket. Just right for a new born baby as this is not so hard to make with a very simple design. What I mean is this is very easy to replace when the baby grows older where you may use more sophisticated baby stuff.

I really wanted to try this since it uses both Tunisian and standard Crochet. I did fine until I had to join the little TKK squares on the fly. I am just awful at that particular technique but its the only way to go with this pattern. I was more than happy to see the Tunisian come back again. Id never made a mitered corner, either, so that was an experience. I doubt Ill make the entire blanket, but I am very glad I at least completed one square.
