Peggy's Pocket Afghan
"This unique blanket, was designed for people sitting up — as in a recliner. You can have your arms laying on top of the blanket and hands tucked inside the pockets. Or you can forgo the pockets from the pattern all together and simply have a stunning throw blanket for anywhere in your house. This pattern uses the herringbone double crochet stitch. Detailed written instructions for the stitch are included in the pattern. Several photos are included as well to help with placing the pockets."

What a novel idea. I have seen those blankets with sleeves but they do nothing for your back side. This would keep my arms and hands free to work, such as crochet and when the hands get cold, stop a few minutes and took them into the pockets. Plus, being a grand mother pockets can hold all kinds of treats.

Why haven't I thought of this? Pockets in a afghan, OMG, I love this pattern of Peggy's Pocket Afghan, it's such a great idea. After reading the written pattern and seeing the pictures, I couldn't figure out how to do the herringbone double crochet stitch. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong? I watched the video and worked it while watching and it looks great and made so much more sense. I am thankful for that video.. LOL sometimes I just need to see it done to make sense of it. I can see a lot of couch potatoes using this afghan. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

Pockets make anything better! This would be the perfect blanket for a Netflix binge session, and I love the mix of blue colors!
