Casablanca Afghan Square
"This is a fun square. It features overlay crochet to create the 3D effect, but don’t worry, I have lots of photos to help you through it. Make this square in several color combinations and join them together for a fun afghan, or choose one color for a classic look. It would even make a beautiful afghan and of course, you could try it in different yarn weights or even crochet thread! But if you aren’t feeling inspired for such a large project, try two of them together to make a throw pillow--I love the versatility! Designed in worsted weight yarn"

These squares are just spectacular! Its hard to believe they are worked from yarn because they look just like mosaic tile. And expensive tile at that. Ive tried working both methods, and although its a lot more fiddly, I do prefer the first method. I missed the drawing for that blocking board, but that is definitely on my Santa Wish List this year.

I am totally surprised to see that this beautiful Casablanca afghan square actually utilizes BUDGET yarn and not some fancy high-end too rich for my blood type of yarn. I really appreciate that! The surface crochet aspect is super fun, too! These squares look vintage. And would totally be looking like an heirloom blanket in your guestroom. Love!
