Autumn Sun Afghan Square
"This 12” square is full of fun texture. Make it in a solid to emphasize the stitches or change it up with multiple color changes! The radiating center reminds me of a radiating sun, hence the name :) There are so many ways to join these squares, but if you join four squares together you will notice the corners form a new geometric design. This square would look great in a throw or blanket or add a back for a pretty throw pillow."

This is striking just to look at. If I did not know better, I would think that this granny square was actually knitted. The "cable" design is achieved with the post stitch that can be found in the sleeves of sweaters or brims of hats. This is a wonderful use for a granny square.

When I first learned the post stitch I loved the results when used. Have not found a lot of applications for it other than like finishing a project. I love this granny square. As the designer stated it is full of texture. By using multiple colors there is a whole dimension while the solid square is beautiful all on its own.

The first thing to note about this project is that it is BIG. Granted you are using a J size hook, this project needs to be big because of all the lovely texture. The instructions are very well written, and I really appreciate the designer using a different colored font for the Back Loop Only stitches. People dont always realize that the way the poster formats an entry can make or break the crafters interest in even trying the project.
