8" Tapestry Shamrock Afghan Square
"12 months, 12 squares, and lots of fun tapestry designs. The 2018 Tapestry Square Afghan Project is going to be a fun way to try out the technique and make a fun blanket by December. It’s the third square already, where does the time go! Like the first two squares this one is tied to the month - March’s big holiday is St. Patrick’s Day here in the US and so I thought, how cute would a shamrock be? A simple shamrock that you can use to make a large blanket, a purse, a wall hanging… it’s up to you!"

I think that is a cool idea to make an entire afghan out of 12 different motif squares that represent each month. I know that is not enough to make up the whole blanket, but I could mix in solid color squares in a neutral tone to tie everything together. I don't think this shamrock is difficult to make!

This delightful tapestry project is the third in the designers ongoing afghan series. Since theres one per month, that will give you plenty of time to work up the required square. If you missed the previous months, she has included a link to all the projects posted so far. From the sneak peak at the April project, it looks like were about to be treated to a daffodil!

My best friends husband is from Ireland. She just redecorated their home adding Celtic touches. Her guest room is done in white and green. I think a bed spread made with these squares would be very pretty. When hooking them together use green yarn and add a green trim around it.
