"Maize is a lovely, free headband pattern with beautiful, bold cables. Of all the textured stitches out there, this one is by far my favorite. For extra warmth, I plan to line this headband with some soft grey fleece. For this headband, I used Knit Picks Brava Bulky in Cobblestone Heather. This is one of my go-to bulky yarns to use as it’s incredibly soft, has a nice sheen and is very affordable. It also comes in a wide variety of colors. You'll love it!"

This beautifully textured headband uses standard cabling techniques but unlike many cable projects, there arent any spaces between the cables themselves. It is worked flat, so you will need to be careful when seaming the ends together. Its also worked across the width, so you can make it as long or as short as necessary. It calls for a K size hook, so it will work up quickly, too.

I disagree! I think the pattern should be rated as intermediate. If they rate THIS as advanced, I would hate to see what that pineapple lace cardigan sweater is rated at, you know? I think a person with several years experience under her belt can take this on with a positive result. It is only front post and back post stitching, in treble crochets. Not bad, eh? A great craft fair item and also last minute Christmas gifts for girlfriends.

This is a free headband pattern with textured stitches and bold cables. The one pictured is made with a bulky yarn that is very soft call Knit Picks Brava Bulky in Cobblestone Heather. I am not sure if this yarn is available in stores or if it has to be ordered online.
