Granny Square Purse
"This 18″ wide x 10″ deep purse is roomy enough to carry everything but the kitchen sink. Use any crochet square pattern you like (there are zillions to choose from on the Web), use your favourite yarn colors, and put them together using my template samples shown below, which require 10 squares. For the purse shown, I used a 6 mm crochet hook and my squares were approx. six inches. I used a variegated color for the first few rounds of the square and a dark taupe for the last couple of rounds."

This purse reminded me so much of my late mom. Not only is it her style, but we teased her constantly about the odd items she carried around in her bag. Not quite the kitchen sink, but she did have flint and steel. I love that the colors are so muted, too. I remember some pretty gaudy looking squares back in the 1970s.

I really like this. This would make a great laptop bag! The pattern doesnt include the instructions to make the granny squares, but it does have a link to a website that has a variety of 6 inch granny square patterns to choose from. This leaves you with endless possibilities for colour and style. I am looking forward to making this one!
