Emma's Baby Rattle
Babies love to play with toys and rattles, so why not crochet this soft baby rattle. It's soft and it still makes noise as you put beans inside. This is an easy free crochet pattern great for a Christening.

The biggest problem with this pattern is tracking down an empty film canister. Does anyone even use film anymore? A good substitute would be a pill container. If you dont have any, you can ask your local pharmacist for some new ones. Also, use a drill to cut a hole in the bottom of the container instead of a knife. Much safer option.

Cute pattern ... Love for a shower gift ... You can put some pink or blue jelly beans in top for shower guests ...

It is really cute. Would be nice for the new baby as well as Mommy and Daddy. Any baby would like it I think.

This rattle will make a great baby shower gift and gift topper, with a few changes it could also be a wedding shower gift topper. The pattern could be a good pattern to use for a beginner crocheter to get the experience of working with thread and using things you will crochet around. Great pattern! Thanks

I think this would make a great shower favor but not sure if it would be OK for a baby. It really is adorable and different.

A friend has a new granddaughter (born Wednesday!) named Emma. I think this will make a perfect topper for a gift, instead of an ordinary bow.

That is Soooooooo sweet! Babies just love things that shake & make noise. To have something handmade makes for very special memories in the years to come.

I love this pattern and plan to make a bunch of them to put with the baby afghans I crochet for our hospital here. I have been crocheting 4 afghans weekly in order that every new baby has one to go home with. I am trying to use up 6 large totes of yarn I have amassed the last few years as in my small apartment i really do not have space to keep all of it. Happy crocheting to all!
