    Embroidered Crib Cover or Blanket

Every baby needs an Embroidered Crib Cover or Blanket once they're old enough to move the blanket off their face. This baby crochet afghan used 14 skeins of yarn in four different colors, but you can make it a solid if you wish. Un-embroidered squares are worked in a smocked afghan stitch while the embroidered squares are worked in the plain afghan stitch.

This is such a great design for a nautical themed nursery! At first I have to admit I thought "Ugh!" the picture is in black and white but then I thought "No, this is great! I can't get hung up on someone else's color scheme!" It's sort of like the theory that boredom initiates creativity. It's good for me to go through periods of boredom because then I get creative. It's good for me to have to come up with my own color scheme because it increases my creativity! Thanks for including this free pattern for us!
