Ruffle Edged Crochet Baby Blanket
The Ruffle Edged Crochet Baby Blanket is not your ordinary crochet pattern. You can add some pizzazz to this blanket with ruffle edge made out of fabric. This fresh idea combines two mediums and we love any new take on the classic baby blanket. People are really crazy for baby blanket crochet patterns, so we are always looking for more. The fabric edging is only worked on three edges so that the ruffles won't tickle the baby's face. Change up the colors or work up a nice pink one like in the picture for a baby girl.
Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Finished SizeApproximately 28 in. x 28 in.

This is such a great idea! I have a ton of this yarn, and definitely too many ruffled scarves. This is such a great alternate use for ruffle yarn, which I am excited to try. I think it would be great to add this to any afghan pattern. The granny stitch is a great stitch for any baby blanket too.

This is amazing!! My mom went nutso when this yarn first came out and bought a bunch. When she tired of making scarves, I inherited it, but you can really only have so many ruffle scarves. This is an awesome way to for me to use some of it up. I can't wait to start my blanket!

There are not many patterns out there that get me excited about crocheting, well ok so I may be telling a little white lie, but I cannot wait to use the ruffle yarn! I had not seen it until this pattern and I am so excited to apply it to "every thing"!

Whoa! This Ruffled Edged Crochet Baby Blanket seems so simple as it is made only of granny stitches in one solid color. But what gave it an exciting twist is the edging which is made of cotton with polka dots design. Really beautiful! This gave me an idea of using printed cotton as edging to my crochet projects. What a great idea!

What a novel idea to add fabric as an edging to a crochet project. By following the directions here you will end up with a big granny square with a 3 sided ruffle edging. Easy peasy.

Well written instructions. Easy to read, follow along, and understand. Short list of things needed to make such a cute blanket to welcome the new baby. Designer includes written directions and also diagrams for those that dont read patterns. Great design. Will definitely visit her blog again.

Love this pattern. Simple granny square with a dash of dazzle. Will be happy to add this to my to do list when the next little one enters my life. The endless color combinations possible will make each one a treasure.
