This is a really simple summer top made with the granny stitch.I have to admit I have never used the granny stitch in anything other than a granny square. I am excited about attempting to make this because of its simplicity.

The pictures provided here are a real plus for any one when attempting to complete a crochet project. It was also nice for the designer to provide some beginner crochet links to help with the true beginner. The color blue reminds me of summer and with it almost over, I think I will use a deeper blue so that it can be used in the fall and winter months.

At this point, if you do not know, or have never tried the granny stitch (which is what the classic granny square is comprised of), then you need to get on board and give it a go! I encourage you to try this. The Modern Summer Top Tee is a classic looking layer piece for the spring and summer months, however, I am thinking that if you made this in a claret, eggplant, or a graphite gray- it would easily carry over to the colder months, too. Just layer a long sleeve tissue weight tee!
