This picture alone has inspired me to create this beginner pattern. You would be missing out if you did not click onto the directions page to see the other photos. At the time of this post there is a link to purchase the kit to make this pattern. I am not sure if this should be considered a beginner pattern because of crochet techniques used but the HDC stitch is not really complicated. Give it a try because I know I will.

I adore when I find a beginner crochet pattern. There are a couple of design elements about this beginner wide sleeve sweater crochet pattern that makes it one of those special projects that you will love to wear. Not only do you have the wide sleeve the top itself is asymmetrical. The black and white would not have been my color choice but I think this is a fabulous beginner pattern.

I am loving the IDEA of this wide flared sleeve asymmetrical hem sweater, I do. But something about it is not quite to my liking. I am SURE it is not heavy or stiff because it calls for the organic cotton, but why does it look heavy and stiff? I would think it would drape nicely and it doesn't seem to appear that way in the pics. The black and white color theme is superb. But think of other color options, as well, with fall around the corner- what about a pretty pumpkin and a brown? The half double crochets are a great stitch to work with. For me, they just flow even easier than a single crochet!

When this was marked as a beginner pattern they weren't kidding. I read the directions and it is very easy. It uses basic stitches. If you can single and double stitches and slip stitch, you can make it. The high low look is great. It covers many problems. And the sleeves are so cute.
