This is an intermediate pattern and I typically shy away from those because I am still learning the craft. The designer took the time to add a lot of notes to help you avoid pit falls and added pictures along the way. The cardigan is made in six pieces and joined together. With that being said I may attempt this intermediate pattern after all.

This Chic Aran Cardigan looks store bought! I love the drape of this cardigan. After reading the written pattern and looking at all the pictures I think I can make one of these for myself. The pattern is well written and there are a few links to show how to do a few of the stitches. It will be a must have in my book. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet cardigan pattern.

Now this right here is a true classic as far as cardigans go. It's not too overwhelmingly long, it is a neutral colorway, and it is a classic Aran. I only wish there were directions for fitting a larger gal like myself. But if you are a straight up medium or large person this is a great fall sweater for you.
