My Mother crocheted the heck out of pineapples when she was really into crochet. Everyone got some sort of item with that pineapple design. And she was not one to use thread; all of her designs were created with thread. I treasure all of mine that she made.

This Pineapple Lace Shawl is simply elegant. Several crochet artists have shared their creations on line and each one is beautiful. I don't know which color I like the most. The black is like having that perfect little black dress but the yellow is beautiful and peach is my favorite.

I know someone who would fall in love with this lace shawl. She is crazy for anything pineapple and I have already made her a couple of tops with the pattern already. I cant wait to show this pattern to her because I know she will absolutely fall in love with it and will have me making her one next week.

This is absolutely stunning! I have done a lot of doilies in the past and my favorite stitch is the pineapple stitch. It is just so interesting. The shawl would make any outfit dressed up, from jeans to a fancy dress. As an extra they will want to know where you purchased it!

Long review I know many have said this pattern was hard to read but if you've dealt with this sort of pattern before you may have a different opinion If you haven't worked treble crochet used special stitches legends or done pineapple designs then the complexity of some the pattern may be daunting at first A good practice project for this type of pattern would be a pineapple design doily I stood say I'm between intermediate and advanced level And it helped that this pattern felt familiar to work compared to other projects I've done previously I feel that the pattern is well written and straight out for the most part Reason being that it tells you exactly where to put certain stitches and how many of a certain stitch will be in a row I will admit row had me stumped with where exactly to put the nd picot stitch…Read More But thank goodness for people explaining in the comments As someone else mentioned the part where it's TrCl picot TrCl there are no spaces between those stitches And the picot goes into the first TrCl you made just before the nd picot It makes sense in the next row since the picots are just to hold more stitches The edging was also a bit confusing at first but really you just have to start making it and it gets easier to understand as you go I would say in general for this pattern For the whole edging you will work on the same side you just turned to at the end of row Ask in all you do have to pay careful attention to what your doing as you work the project which may be why many are saying the pattern is hard to read But I think it's that all of the Treble stitches are tedious to work up not that it's hard to read The amount of patience required can also factor into the difficulty level which I would say can be ranged from intermediate if you've worked with this type of pattern before like for doilies or maybe even advanced if you haven't worked something like this before In the end I was happy with the finished project from left to right as pictured it measured about ft And up and down measured about ft inches Happy stitching

This is the instructions for Row 8 Beg-trCl in first trCl, ch 5, trCl in next trCl, ch 3, tr in next tr, ch 3, trCl in next trCl, ch 5, trCl in next trCl repeat from across, turn24 clusters and 11 tr. however, when following these instructions there is a treble stitch that isn't worked... Am I to assume to make a treble in the treble stitch??? Can't rate

Lovely shawl, I can do this in a different color. The pineapple design has become a popular crochet design due to its beauty and intricate design. This is in my bucket list.

Thanks for posting this pattern. I am very pleased with this shawl! While crocheting I had thought it looked as if it was going to be a bit small, but blocking it cured that for me! Again, thanks for posting!

I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THIS SHAWL SO I AM GOING TO GIVE IT A TRY. I LOVE THE LOOK OF IT. I JUST HOPE IT IS AS BIG AS IT LOOKS. PROBABLY NOT AS I AM SUCH A TIGHT CROCHETER AND KNITTER I AM SURE IT WILL BE A BIT SMALLER. THANKS FOR THE PATTERN.

NC grandma, I am having difficulty also. I have started over twice and believe I am going wrong when I turn the first time without joining in ring. I am going to try one more time before I move on to another pattern. If you now have it figured out, please let me know.

Rows 10 and 11 were a little confusing. I thought maybe the pattern was missing a stitch, but when it says Cl picot Cl, that is really what it means. There are no extra stitches between the clusters and the picot. It makes sense when you get to row 11. All of the agonizing over the pattern was worth it, though, as it turned out beautifully. My daughter absolutely loves it. It looks very intricate and difficult, but once rows 10 and 11 are figured out, the rest is fast and easy.

I finally finished this beautiful shawl. I consider myself an intermediate crocheter and several places in the instructions were rather confusing. After looking at my work, and pictures from the Aphrodite shawl and Goddess shawl, I figured it out. I opted to add the extra rows to make the shawl a little longer as both of my dil are on the tall side. I would give this shawl 5 stars for beauty, but only 1 star for instructions. Intend to make another in a larger gauge, if I can remember all of my work-arounds.

I have made this and there are no directions for underarm seams in the pattern because there aren't any sleeves. What looks like seams is the edge curved over the arm of the model. I agree that it is not for a beginner or even an intermediate crocheter but it is gorgeous.

I have been crocheting for a long time and felt the directions were hard to understand. I did make it for a birthday gift for my sister. She was elated with it. The struggle was worth while. P Morris Easton Md

I've been making this project for my gf. All of it is self explanatory until I get to the edging. Can anyone shed some light on the subject. Row 1 of edging: I went around the entire project chaining 3 and sc in each ch 3 space. Then when it comes to making the corner, and the pivot instruction I don't know which side of the shawl to work across. A little more instruction, maybe a picture or even to clarify what part of the shawl we are making would be appreciated.

I found this pattern to make up quickly with very little trouble. I was a little concerned over the "picot" stitch used and did not see the sense in it but went ahead and did as instructed and it worked out fine. The only thing I would add to this pattern would be instructions for underarm seams. If you look at the photos they definitely made seams under the arms but nothing was mentioned in the instructions. While it was not absolutely necessary it would have been nice for those beginners to have some instruction on making the underarm seams.

I agree this is not for beginners. I have been crochetin 50+ years and I had to really pay attention to the instructions. But I love the shawl after it is finished. I'm on my second one.

It is difficult to read. I'm not a beginner, but when I got to row 11, I had to stop. Having an additonal picture of the stitch section of the shawl would be helpful. Any sight where I could see another close up of this?

I made this and its gorgeous! I changed the main body to oatmeal and ends in black so it looks like its dipped! Not for beginners as the pattern was hard for me to follow (a beginner)
