Notes
You will be using the edge with the larger mesh holes and inserting your crochet hook through the holes. The edge with the smaller holes becomes the ruffle.
Step 1
Step 1: Starting 3 (7.6 cm) from end, insert hook through 1st hole from back to front; skip 2 holes and insert hook again. Repeat for 3rd and 4th holes skipping 2 holes each time. You now have 4 holes on the hook.
Step 2
Step 2: Pinching together all four holes on the hook with left forefinger and thumb, insert hook from front to back into 5th hole and pull through all holes on hook.
Step 3
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with each group of 5 holes. If you put your work down, be sure to put a stitch holder or safety pin on the working stitch. This holder needs to be larger than the hole so that your work will not fall apart. Continue until 60 (152.4 cm) long or length desired; cut 3 (7.6 cm) from hook. Pull end through last stitch and tighten. Turn under ends and sew with needle and thread to secure to inside of ruffle. Shake out your scarf so that ruffles spiral.
