Nice and easy pattern that makes a beautiful and quick gift. Used Red Heart Super Saver Ombr in Scuba. Thanks for the pattern!

I really enjoyed this pattern. Thank you so much

It does not get cold enough to wear scarves during the winter living in the South. So I make scarves for my family members who live in the North. This is definitely an easy and quick scarf to make in all different groups of colors. This is a great pattern for those just starting to learn to crochet.

To others who have made it Where are you finding the yarn? AC Moore doesn't carry it. Michael's discontinued this colorway right after I bought several skeins, and JoAnn Fabrics doesn't carry it. I am trying to find more of it in NC. Thank you. I loved using it for scarves and want more of the yarn.

Hobby Lobby may carry it

I have made 3 of these scarves with this exact yarn and LOVE them, as do each person I have given them to. The yarn feels silky and takes some getting used to, and it's hard to find. But it's worth the hunt. I bought a skein of this yarn in another color variation and plan to make that one next. The pattern is simple enough to work while talking with friends and looks beautiful. Thank you to whoever created it.

My comment is below. Having trouble getting picture to show here.

Hello, Im just now starting this patter, using the Unfortgettable yarn, color Parrot.. I would recommend anyone to try this pattern. The colors are so pretty. And the way the yarn changes is unbelievable.

I have used thus yarn in different colors from when it first came out.its soft, doesn't slit and washes up beautifully. I did a baby afghan in shDes of blue for a friends new grand son. She couldn't thank me enough. So this will be her gift for Christmas. Thank you for sharing.

It's refreshing to see a pattern actually done in very pretty colours that are in a commonly-used palette. Usually, if a pattern is done and displayed in colours that the "designer" simply threw together and gave no thought to, it's harder for folks to envision it in their own colours, and I know I, for one, will leave that page in search of another that appeals to my aesthetic. So this is very nice!

This is such an easy and simple pattern!!! Loved it heaps!!!

I recently made a rippled afghan out of this exact yarn. It was so soft and comfy. I can imagine that the scarf would be nice and soft on your neck and not itchy like a lot of yarns are on your skin. I would like to work this scarf and then I would also like to make a wrap with this yarn and the scarf pattern.

I am in process of making this scarf. I watched the tutorial on how to make this scarf, and it really helped to get the project started. I am using the same type of yarn but with different colors and it is coming out pretty well. I like the fact that it is not a heavy yarn, so you can wear it for a longer period of time. I hope you enjoy making this scarf as much as I am!

Oh my word, this Island Lace crocheted scarf is so beautiful! Besides the colours that have been used the pattern itself is absolutely gorgeous. I also love scarf and shawl designs that are light and airy because I have lots of cuddly warm winter scarves and wraps but the light ones are just perfect for spring and summer when there is just a slight coolness in the evening air. I just can not wait to get started making this stunning scarf.

I love the different colors in this scarf! It is so bright and pretty, and I love that the lace pattern means you can stay comfortable while wearing it even in warmer weather. I will have to try this one!

This is a super easy pattern and can be made easier using the half crochet stitch. The scarf will be a little thicker but perfect if you want a really warm winter scarf.

I teach crochet at our local senior center. I printed off some copies of this pattern as we try to include one group project each month. Most of the ladies are in their seventies, have either never crocheted or it's been years, so they have varying degrees of confidence. This pattern was perfect as it's really only double crochet and chains. It worked up so quickly! Once they got past the first few rows, the girls just took off. A few even finished on their own at home, proudly showing off their skills at our next meeting.

Is there a print friendly version?

Hi Laura, Any specific pattern information should be directed to the blogger as we simply link out to the pattern on their sites. Thank you! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

Here in the south we don't have much of the drastic winter temps that much of the country does so I never feel the need for the heavier scarves. This one however I may make up for relatives because of the open weave and light weight yarn. The delicious varieties of color are also definitely a plus.

I'm right there with you with the warmer temperatures in the South! Love this open weave, it looks warm without being stifling hot! Love that I could make this in tons of different color combinations.

I love the open stitch of the pattern and the color chosen is beautiful worked up! I will definitely try this pattern, but I am thinking of turning it in to a cowl.

This is one of my favorite crochet patterns currently. I've made three from different colors and love them all. I'll be giving these away for Christmas. )

Wow I love this Island Lace Crochet Scarf! The colors are so beautiful together, Unforgettable from Red Heart Yarn has some amazing colors. This pattern is very well written and so easy to follow that I know it will come out just as nice. I have a friend who loves scarfs and wears them all year long. So she will flip when I give her this one.. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern..

I want to make this for my boyfriend's mom she LOVES tropical themed stuff. So pretty!

Love it and the yarn which I have in several colors Unforgettable

Lots of people think that scarves are only suitable for the winter months, but this scarf would easily work, even in the warmer months. The airy stitches allow for air flow, keeping you cool. Crocheting the scarf in a cotton or bamboo yarn would make it much cooler against the skin as well.

This is such a beautiful scarf that really shows the details. The light contrasting colors go amazingly together, too.

CraftyChristine I'm loving these color combinations in the picture as well! It's so pretty and great for the coming warmer weather! Would be great to pair with many summer outfits and could be made in so many color combos!
