"The Stripe Me Shawl is a new free crochet pattern made by Wilma Westenberg from Wilmade. It's something different than most of her shawls. The shawl has both horizontal and vertical stripes which creates a unique effect. The crochet pattern is very simple and great for beginners as well: with a big crochet hook (6mm/J US hook) you only have to make single crochet stitches and some turning chains. This shawl will make simple outfits more playful and is a great addition to your spring and summer garderobe!"

This is a really clever idea. Turning one of the triangles on its side is a stroke of genius. It really takes what could be an ordinary shawl up several notches. Since the Vertical side is worked directly onto the Horizontal side, there isnt even any sewing to worry about. Its all Single Crochet including the simple border. Theres even a YouTube video for this project.

It is crazy how just a simple concept that will make a design truly unique. I like this stripe me shawl and I think I love the color that was used even better. These will make perfect Christmas gifts for the coming holiday.

I love scarves and I am collecting more and more patterns as I look through the All Free Crochet web site. This is a new favorite. I can not wait to make this for myself and have it ready in time for the coming fall. I want to make it in a brown and yellow stripe.

What a unique looking shawl this one is, I so want one! I have see a few patterns now using the Lion Brand Like Butta and need to find this yarn. I like that she did a video showing how to make this shawl and the tassels for the ones who need to see it done. The written patten is well done and easy to follow. here is another pattern for the new yarn from Lion Brand, Feels Like Butta. I read so many favorable things about this yarn, I cannot wait to try it out for myself. Unfortunately, I will have to order it online. I do not like to wait for my yarn! -) The mix of directions in the stripes make this shawl look so modern and fun! Loving the big tassels.
