Sanguine Scarf Pattern
"The Sanguine Scarf is a lovely lightweight scarf crocheted with Lion Brand Mandala Yarn. The stitch pattern is lacy and eye catching. The finished size is 49 inches long and 9 inches wide as written but if you would like a longer scarf to wrap around your neck multiple times you can simply continue on with the pattern instructions until you run out of yarn :) This scarf is crocheted in one-piece with the edging row designed right into the beginning of the pattern. This way you can match up your colors and continue the scarf smoothly and with only the beginning and ending yarn end needing to be sewn in. I love this stitch pattern and this easy scarf pattern. This scarf will make a great gift!"

This scarf has a few interesting techniques. You begin by working in Rounds, but once you get the initial motif finished, you switch to working repetitive rows until you get the length you want. This project looks more difficult than it really is, so Im glad the designer decided to post annotated photos of the first section. This is available as a free download, too.

How lovely is this traditional scarf pattern, with the open stitching and the beautiful scalloped border which is built right in as you go! This way, you do not end up having to fasten off after finishing the scarf itself, then tie on again and work all the way around the piece. You know, you'll end up with a completely different color for your border.
